Barcelona are desperate to sign Coutinho and have supposedly settled on a £135million transfer fee. They were knocked back three times in the summer and would need to pay that figure off in instalments if Liverpool agree to it. And while negotiations with Liverpool continue, the Nou Camp club have also got to work on Coutinho’s wages. That is according to Spanish newspaper Sport, who claim Barcelona officials and Coutinho’s wages have been in discussions over the contract since the summer. It is claimed Coutinho’s representatives have secured the Brazil international a £10.6m-a-season contract that will last until 2023.
