Philip Rivers, who has one year remaining on his current contract, was not in attendance when the Los Angeles Chargers kicked off their offseason workouts Monday.

According to Eric Williams of ESPN, this “is unusual for the veteran signal caller.”

Instead of showing up for the voluntary workouts, Rivers was on vacation in Florida with his family, head coach Anthony Lynn told reporters.

Rivers is set to make $23 million in 2019 without a contract extension.
