The ending to the Philadelphia 76ers 2020-21 season can’t be seen as anything less than disastrous. Boasting the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, Philadelphia choked away Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at home against the upstart Atlanta Hawks.

Enigmatic All-Star Ben Simmons attempted all of four shots in the game. NBA MVP finalist Joel Embiid had a costly late-game turnover. Meanwhile, 76ers fans on hand at Wells Fargo Center gave them a true Philly-like sendoff as the game came to a conclusion.

Philadelphia now enters an offseason that will be defined by rumors of a potential Ben Simmons trade and the need of front office head Daryl Morey to build a better supporting cast behind Embiid. Here, we check in on the biggest Philadelphia 76ers rumors on one page. Bookmark for continual updates as the underperforming organization enters a franchise-defining offseason.

What is Ben Simmons trade value?

Prior to Philadelphia’s Game 7 loss to Atlanta, talk of a potential Simmons trade was heating up. As trigger shy as any ball-dominant player in the Association, Simmons failed to attempt a single field goal in the fourth quarter of both Game 5 and Game 6. He attempted all of four shots in the 76ers’ season-ending loss.

The backdrop here is renewed questions about Simmons’ trade value should Morey kick the tires on that possibility once again. Sure he’s a top-end defensive player. But having someone who is so limited on offense run things on that end of the court is not ideal in today’s NBA. This has led to speculation that Simmons’ value on the trade block is at an all-time low.
