LaVar Ball has made it clear that he does not want his son, Lonzo Ball, being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in a potential deal that would send Anthony Davis to the Lakers, and the Pelicans reciprocate his feelings.
According to Fletcher Mackel of WDSU, the Pelicans want no part of the family circus that Lonzo would bring:
Many in Pelicans hierarchy really like Lonzo. I know many envision (d) he and Jrue as an excellent backcourt.— Fletcher Mackel (@FletcherWDSU) February 5, 2019
But I’m told LaVar has wrecked any chance of Lonzo being part of potential Lakers trade with NOLA.

So, basically, the Pelicans absolutely had interest in Lonzo until LaVar spoke up and squashed it.
Magic Johnson already had issues with LaVar, but imagine how he feels about him now?
This could potentially be a pretty big snag in a Davis trade, as Ball is one of the top young assets that the Lakers have on their roster. Without him, it’s hard to imagine Los Angeles having enough to get a deal done.
