The New Orleans Pelicans are working out Michigan point guard Trey Burke and Syracuse point guard Michael Carter-Williams on Friday morning at the Alario Center. The Pelicans are also interviewing Maryland center Alex Len, but he will not work out because he is still recovering from surgery from a stress fracture in his left ankle. It's the Pelicans' first pre-draft workouts with the NBA draft two weeks away.Burke, 6 feet, 190 pounds, is considered to be the top-rated point guard. Most of the mock drafts have the Pelicans taking Burke with their sixth overall pick in the June 27th NBA draft. In two seasons at Michigan, Burke averaged 16.9 points and 5.7 assists. Carter-Williams, 6-6, 185, averaged 8.2 points in two seasons at Syracuse before declaring for the draft. He set the school record for steals with 111 last season. Most of the mock drafts have Carter going as a lottery pick and he is expected to be available when the Pelicans select. Carter-Williams has already worked out for the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks.
