Patriots wide receiver Dontrelle Inman has requested his release and will be let go, according to a report from ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
The Athletic’s Nick Underhill first reported Sunday the two sides were parting ways.
The 30-year-old wideout signed with New England in mid-May after spending nine games last season in Indianapolis. Inman never climbed out of the bottom of the Patriots’ depth chart this summer, seeing significant action with the third-string offense and during the fourth quarter of both preseason games to date. Inman caught one pass on two targets during Saturday’s win at Tennessee.
