Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots are bringing in free agent QB Brian Hoyer for a visit on Wednesday and he’s expected to sign with the team. As soon as the Patriots traded QB Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers, speculation began circulating that Hoyer could end up back in New England as Tom Brady‘s backup. Some have said that this could end up being a two-year contract for Hoyer, so that’s something to keep an eye on. Hoyer, 32, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State back in 2009.
