Jonathan Papelbon has no interest in dissing Red Sox fans. The former Red Sox closer also won't retreat from his recent comments to a Philadelphia radio station that fans of his new team, the Phillies, have a greater understanding of baseball, mostly because the style of play in the National League requires it. "I wasn't trying to offend nobody, man," Papelbon said yesterday. "I'm just calling a spade a spade. I was just saying that because the American League is different from the National League, there's a little more thought process that goes along with that. Bunting, I can't remember (the Red Sox) bunting three times."
