The question Jonathan Papelbon wanted to ask was simple. He wanted to know if home-plate umpire D.J. Reyburn could throw him out of the game for what the pitcher was thinking. It was, at best, a rhetorical question. What Papelbon was thinking after what appeared to be the third strike against leadoff hitter Dee Gordon was called a ball was simple. "I thought he sucked," Papelbon said of Reyburn. The next pitch the Phillies closer threw was laced for a triple, and Gordon came around to score the go-ahead run in a 4-3 Dodgers win one batter later.
