Before Drew Shore could speak to the media about his latest promotion to the Panthers, he had to fetch a few teammates their green protein shakes and help take Jesse Winchester's shoulder pads off, as if he was still a rookie. In a sense, Shore is starting over again. The 22-year-old center was rushed into the NHL last season because of a plethora of injuries, and he then earned his keep by dominating the faceoff circle and clicking on a hot line with Peter Mueller and Jonathan Huberdeau. However, a broken wrist caused Shore to slump in the final month, as he finished with three goals, 10 assists and a minus-10 in 43 games. Offseason surgery and a rigorous workout regimen had Shore believing he would earn one of the 23 roster spots in training camp.
