Oklahoma right tackle Cody Ford is moving on to the NFL.
The redshirt junior declared for the upcoming draft via his Twitter account on Tuesday. He graded out as one of OU’s best offensive lineman this fall, helping the group win the Joe Moore Award for the nation’s best line.
Ford moved to tackle this season after a long history playing guard, where he made a combined seven starts in 2016 and 2017. His rise could have begun earlier, if not for a broken leg that sidelined him for most of the 2016 season.
That injury relegated him to a backup role the following season as Ben Powers became entrenched at his old spot, but Ford still played 12 games, starting four times when Powers wasn’t available.
Ford dropped weight and started at right tackle in all 14 games this season.
