Late on Saturday night, Mike Belfiore found out that he was getting his first call to the major leagues. The 24-year-old left-hander was summoned from Norfolk to help the Orioles out in the bullpen. He made an early morning flight from Syracuse where the Tides were playing. Belfiore, who was acquired from Arizona exactly one year ago, was 1-0 with a 5.52 ERA in 10 games with Norfolk. “I had a little bit of a struggle getting adapted early on, but the last couple of weeks I got my old self back and started doing what I can do,” Belfiore said. “They like to bring guys up, which is a good thing for us, which is not necessarily something you focus on,” Belfiore said. He’ll wear No. 65, and the best thing is his parents, girlfriend and a few friends were able to make last-minute plans to get to Target Field.
