The Dayton Flyers became the biggest Cinderella story in the 2014 NCAA Tournament. With a stop as time expired, the Flyers upset the No. 12/14 Syracuse Orange 55-53 to earn their first spot in the Sweet Sixteen since 1984. Dyshawn Pierre led the Flyers with 14 points and six rebounds, while Jordan Sibert scored 10 as the Flyers improved to 25-10 overall. Dayton is the only team to have upset two Top 25 teams in the NCAA Tournament Second and Third Rounds. In fact, the Flyers have won three straight against ranked opponents and improved to 5-2 against the Top 25 this season. UD's defense was the story in this contest. Syracuse went 0-for-10 from three-point range. Syracuse's streak of 665 consecutive games with a 3-pointer was snapped. Their last game without a 3 was March 10, 1995 against Providence.
