The Oilers Entertainment Group will announce a significant change in organizational structure Monday morning.

Bob Nicholson will be shifting to a new role as chairman of the Edmonton Oilers and Tom Anselmi is coming on board as president of business operations & Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Nicholson will become responsible for all hockey matters as owner Daryl Katz’ most important executive and Anselmi will take over running business operations.

“With Bob leading our hockey clubs and Tom leading our business operations, we have a powerhouse combination as we continue to build an elite organization in all aspects of what we do,” Oilers owner Daryl Katz said in a Monday news release. “This is an exciting time for our company and the city, and we are full of optimism about the Edmonton Oilers and ICE District hitting full stride in the very near future.”

Oilers general manager and president of hockey operations, Ken Holland will report to Nicholson and will continue to have full autonomy over all aspects of Edmonton Oilers hockey operations, the club said in a news release Monday.
