Ohio State corner and future NFL draft selection Denzel Ward decided to sit out the Cotton Bowl versus the University of Southern California on Friday night. In a post on Twitter, Ward thanked fans, coaches and teammates for their support. According to reports, Ohio State's coaching staff did not know until shortly before kickoff that Ward would not be playing in the bowl game. "Though I was deciding not to participate in the bowl game I did not want to leave my teammates and coaches to pursue my dream just yet," Ward wrote. "I wanted to continue to be apart (sic) of the team and support my team in anyway possible."
