The Giants reportedly have their first head coaching interview penciled in - Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz - and it looks like they can forget about a second. Bill O'Brien, who had gained steam as a potential Giants contender were he to become available, "is likely to be back next season" as Texans coach, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. There had been considerable speculation the Texans would fire O'Brien and choose general manager Rick Smith in an apparent power struggle a Houston Chronicle report called "toxic." Schefter does add "sources said there still are issues to be discussed and hashed out with his contract." The Giants have made it clear they would like to hire a new coach with head coaching or significant coordinator experience, and O'Brien has both.
O'Brien likely to be retained as Texans HC
