Nyles Morgan may finish his Notre Dame career coming off the bench. The senior as stripped of his captaincy at some point during Notre Dame’s buildup to the Citrus Bowl against LSU, revealed when the linebacker took the field for warmups without the “C” on his jersey to signify a captain. Then during 7-on-7 warmups, Morgan worked with the second team defense, with Te’von Coney taking over as the starting middle linebacker. It’s not clear what triggered the move by Brian Kelly in advance of the LSU game. A Notre Dame official called the decision an "internal matter."
