Matt Harvey has not had much luck at Space Coast Stadium. Last year, he made his first-ever start against major leaguers and was shelled, giving up five runs on seven hits, including a bomb by Jayson Werth that Harvey joked “is probably still going.” Returning to the scene of that crime Wednesday, Harvey struggled again in the first inning. He issued a leadoff walk to Denard Span, saw Werth reach on an error and then allowed Bryce Harper’s three-run blast. But Harvey settled down, not allowing another run while striking out six over four innings in the Nats’ 8-5 win. “A little timing issue, getting a little excited to get back on this field after struggling from last time,” Harvey said. “I am happy about it, obviously not the first inning, but I bounced back.”
