A high school basketball coach in North Carolina was killed in a shootout with a Mexican drug cartel, WCNC Charlotte reports.

WCNC’s report states that Barney Harris, a high school basketball coach in Union County died on last week in a shootout with a drug cartel in Alamance County. Per WCNC, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office investigators said Harris and his brother-in-law went to a stash house in Alamance County last week to steal money and drugs from the cartel.
