If Claude Noel is nervous about going into next season with only one year left on his contract to be the head coach of the Winnipeg Jets, he's not letting on. As the Jets held exit meetings and met with the media for one final time, Noel was asked about his job security after missing the playoffs for the second straight season. "I don't worry about my contract," said Noel, who has guided the Jets to a record of 61-56-13. "That doesn't come into the equation for me." It's possible the Jets could offer Noel an extension prior to next season to help avoid the label of "lame-duck" status. The other route would be to let next season play out and see what happens. Noel believes his team is right on the cusp of breaking through and getting above the playoff line.
