Adam Dunn declined to provide an update on his right oblique strain before Thursday night's game, and there were no indications he would return soon. For the first time in recent days, manager Robin Ventura didn't quip that Dunn was "day-to-day" or "hour-to-hour," fueling the belief Dunn could be out much longer. "I know he feels it," Ventura said after not putting Dunn in the lineup for the seventh consecutive game. "(Trainer) Herm Schneider was just saying it's more of when he feels it. When you play and you have to react, it becomes different. "It's one thing to go in the cage and take some swings. It's another thing to swing and miss and check (a) swing and things like that. When Herm gives him the clean bill, then he can play."
