New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith did not sustain a fractured ankle against the Lions on Friday he told reporters after the game. Smith went on to say he expects to play in the Jets' game against the Jacksonville Jaguars next week. Smith went down with an apparent ankle injury early in the third quarter cutting short his pro debut. He was trying to escape pressure and rolled his ankle to the inside and immediately limped to the sidelines. There he was examined with his cleats off by team trainers and he did not return to action.
