Nikola Jokic took home his second consecutive NBA MVP award. The Denver Nuggets’ superstar big man improved on his already massively impressive game and again beat out Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, who was once again a runner-up with his own fantastic season.

Jokic’s MVPs put him in historic company. His unreal stats (27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists per game while shooting 58.3 percent from the field) make it easy to see why he was a leading candidate. While his individual accolades are stacking up very nicely, team success is the next step to establishing himself as one of the true greats of the sport.
