After being left off the Wooden Award and Robertson Trophy midseason player of the year watch lists, Michigan's Nik Stauskas landed on the Naismith Trophy 30-player watch list on Thursday. Stauskas was not included in the preseason watch list of 50 players, while teammates Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III both appeared. Now with the list trimmed to 30, Stauskas in one of four Big Ten players left standing. He's joined by Iowa's Roy Devyn Marble and Michigan State's Keith Appling and Gary Harris. Stauskas ranks first in the Big Ten in 3-point percentage (.447), third in 3-pointers made (2.4 per game) and minutes played (35.1 mpg), fifth in scoring (16.9 ppg), seventh in free-throw percentage and 11th in assists (3.5 apg). The Naismith Trophy is voted on by a board of selectors comprised of coaches, administrators and media from across the country. In March, the voters select the four finalists for the final ballot. The winner is selected by the board in conjunction with fan voting worth 25 percent of the final vote.
