Now that the Timberwolves have done what they've been trying to do for almost a week -- get restricted free-agent forward Nicolas Batum to sign their offer sheet -- the Wolves hope all the work was not in vain. Batum signed the Wolves' offer sheet Sunday, a four-year deal worth a reported $46.5 million. Guard-forward Martell Webster cleared 48-hour waivers earlier in the day, which was the final step in the Wolves' efforts to sign Batum, who is viewed as the team's top catch in free agency.
