The NHL issued fines to two players stemming from Monday evening’s slate. The league has announced that Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba has been fined $5,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct against the Winnipeg Jets while Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane has been fined the same amount for slashing Anaheim Ducks’ Nick Ritchie. With Jets’ Joel Armia skating past the Wild bench, Dumba squirted him with his water bottle. Dumba has 10 points across nine assists, and his first tally of the season coming in a 6-4 win over the Nashville Predators on November 16. He’s been with the organization ever since the Wild drafted the blue-liner with the No. 7 pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Over 76 games last season, the 23-year-old Dumba posted 11 goals and 23 assists, a season after generating 10 and 16 over 81 games.
