It might have taken a while for reigning Heisman finalist Jalen Hurts to get a shot. But the Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie second-round pick will get his shot Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints.

Hurts is forced into the starting role with Philadelphia’s NFL Playoff hopes on life support. He replaces high-priced struggling quarterback Carson Wentz under center as the Eagles’ starter.

A lot of focus in Philadelphia and around the NFL world has been on Wentz. However, Hurts is a tremendous story himself.

A former top recruit of Alabama, Hurts actually led the Crimson Tide to the College Football Championship over Georgia as a sophomore back in 2017. Unfortunately, he was replaced under center by eventual Miami Dolphins top-five pick Tua Tagovailoa a year later.
