Paris Saint-Germain hope to tie up Neymar's renewal with the club in due course, but the bigger picture is how that impacts upon the possible renewal of Kylian Mbappe.

The French club's star duo both have contracts expiring in the summer of 2022, but Neymar is now believed to have agreed a four-year extension, committing himself to Qatar's project until 2026.

That in itself is a major coup for PSG and their aspirations of being taken seriously as one of Europe's biggest clubs, as many thought Neymar's stay in the French capital would be more fleeting.

However, Neymar is now 29 years old and Mbappe, at 22, is considered to be the future of football; a certainty to be one of the world's top players for the coming decade.
