Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is interested in Manchester City's England midfielder Fabian Delph. However the player's £12million asking price could prove an interesting test case for owner Mike Ashley's transfer ambitions this summer. Delph, 27, is expected to leave the Etihad when contract issues are resolved and Stoke City are also interested in taking him either on loan or as a permanent transfer. Benitez has been frustrated by the pace of Newcastle's summer business so far and has paid money for only two new signings so far; £6.5m Chelsea winger Christian Atsu who was on loan at St James' Park last season and £8m Eibar defender Florian Lejeune with a number of other targets including England Under-21 striker Tammy Abrahams going elsewhere.
