Republic of Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick is reportedly set to join Newcastle United.
The Guardian claim he will complete a free transfer to St James Park after his deal at Burnley expired.
Roma and AC Milan were among a number of Italian clubs interested in the 28-year-old but the Magpies look to have won the race as Steve Bruce presses ahead with plans following the club's failed takeover.
Hendrick made 24 appearances in the Premier League this season, contributing two goals and two assists.
Clarets boss Sean Dyche is believed to be unhappy with the club over their reluctance to extend the contracts of several senior players whose deals expire this month, including Hendrick.
Hendrick was a mainstay at Burnley under boss Sean Dyche and has also attracted interest from several other Premier League clubs.
He arrived at Turf Moor from Derby back in 2016 in a then club-record £10.5m deal.
