The Pelicans have waived Amundson after signing him just over a month ago. The New Orleans Pelicans have waived Lou Amundson, the team announced Tuesday. Amundson appeared in 18 games this season, averaging 2.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. The Pelicans signed the veteran big man on Nov. 12, presumably to add front court depth. In 345 career games, Amundson, 31, has averaged 3.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Never the most talented player on the floor, Amundson mostly provided defensive minutes and hustle as a bench reserve.
