The NFL has some pretty stringent rules when it comes to teams publicly recruiting players from opposing squads. These policies, however, do not include the city’s mayor. This is exactly why New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell came out with a rather compelling recruitment pitch for the New Orleans saints aimed at Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
Mayor Cantrell was not at all discreet with her desire to bring Wilson to New Orleans, as she published this message on her Twitter account:
Talk about a strong recruitment pitch, right? The good Mayor even had her Saints props on full display for her message.
“I’ve heard the rumors now and I wanna make sure that you understand that the city of New Orleans is a place for you and your beautiful family,” she said.
