Philadelphia Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth sustained a lower-body injury in the first period and didn't return for the second against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Neuvirth played the entire first period and made 11 saves on 14 shots. He was replaced by Alex Lyon. The Flyers are already playing without Brian Elliott, who had surgery on a core muscle injury Tuesday and was ruled out for five-to-six weeks. Elliott is 21-11-7 with a 2.72 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 41 appearances (40 starts).
