D’Angelo Russell’s knee is making improvement, with the Nets’ leading scorer expected to be upgraded from doubtful to questionable for Friday night against the Knicks at the Garden. The 21-year-old Russell sprained his right knee during their loss in Orlando, and sat out an upset victory Wednesday over LeBron James and the Cavaliers. The young point guard is averaging 23.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals. He’s one of just five players topping 23 points, five assists and four boards, joining James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry and James Harden.
