The start of the NBA regular season is still almost three months away but we'll soon know what the schedule will look like. The NBA announced Thursday that the schedule will be released Tuesday at 6 p.m. on NBA TV and at The Sun Sentinel previously reported that the preliminary version of the schedule sent to NBA teams showed the Heat opening Oct. 29 against the Chicago Bulls at AmericanAirlines Arena and playing Christmas Day against the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center. It is rare practically unprecedented for nationally televised games such as opening night and Christmas to be changed between the initial and final drafts of the schedule. The New York Daily News recently reported that the Heat will play a road game against the New York Knicks the day before the New York area hosts the Super Bowl. The newspaper also reported the Heat will play the revamped Brooklyn Nets in the Nets' home opener on Nov. 1.
