Dennis Schroder is yet to find a new team. The former Lakers point guard is a free agent right now and looking for a new team after a difficult season with the purple and gold. The Lakers brought in Schroder to be the replacement for Rajon Rondo, who left to join the Hawks. Schroder had a solid 2019-20 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, being the runner-up for the NBA Sixth Man Of The Year accolade.
When he joined the Lakers, they immediately offered him a contract extension, which he rejected. The Lakers followed up several times, including a massive $84 million contract spread out across 4 years, but Schroder rejected that contract. He believed that his form with the Lakers could allow him to enter free agency and secure a $100 million contract in the open market.
But things did not go to plan, as Schroder struggled to acclimatize to the Lakers' style of play. Schroder spent a lot of time on the shelf with minor injuries and COVID. And when he did play, he failed to make an impression on the Lakers' success. Schroder was extremely poor during the Lakers' first-round playoff series against the Phoenix Suns.
