Denver’s Masai Ujiri was named the NBA Executive of the Year, the league announced today. Daryl Morey of the Rockets finished third in the voting behind Ujiri and Gary Sacks of the Clippers. Morey made two key free-agent signings in Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin and then was ready when James Harden came on the market and made the big trade for him on the eve of the season. He also made a big trade deadline deal with Sacramento and Phoenix, bringing Thomas Robinson and Francisco Garcia to the Rockets.
