The Washington Nationals have expressed interest in free agent right-hander Jake Arrieta, a source tells FanRag Sports. The buzz comes after learning that another club in the NL East, the Philadelphia Phillies, have also shown interest in the 31-year-old. It would certainly be a stroke of good fortune for the Nationals, who are looking to form a super rotation behind Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg. Arrieta has been stellar with the Chicago Cubs since being dealt by the Baltimore Orioles midway through the 2013 season. Off his fourth full season with the NL powerhouse, Arrieta has won double-digit games in each year with the Cubs, and is fresh off a season in which he went 14-10 with a 3.53 ERA, 1.218 WHIP and 1.9 WAR over the course of 30 starts.
