Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson has agreed to restructure his contract for 2013, according to Dave Birkett. The deal is apparently not official just yet, but the move will give the Lions additional cap space to work with when free agency opens in March. Since Burleson is under contract through 2014, it's not clear if this restructure means taking a pay cut or moving money to next year. I'd have to imagine it's the former since Burleson was set to have a base salary of $4.5 million in 2013. Before restructuring his contract, his cap hit was around $6.5 million for this year partly because he has restructured his contract in the past by converting base salary money to a signing bonus.
