Creighton picked up the type of victory Tuesday night that coach Greg McDermott considers vital in a championship chase. Doug McDermott's 3-point basket with 2.5 seconds to play lifted Creighton to a 63-60 victory over St. John's. It was just the second time in 12 games this season at the CenturyLink Center that the Bluejays won by fewer than 10 points. Creighton's previous closest call was a 95-89 win over Xavier on Jan. 12. “In the course of a season, you always look back on a couple of games where almost anything could have happened and the outcome could have gone either way,” Greg McDermott said. “We haven't had a lot of those games. “We had a chance tonight to put St. John's away and, to their credit, we weren't able to do that. This is a great win for us.”
