Napoli are reportedly expecting Manchester United to secure the signing of RB Salzburg wonderkid Erling Haaland in January after deciding the striker is too expensive.

The teenage sensation has netted a staggering 21 goals in 14 games this campaign, and has previously played under Red Devils manager boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde.

And according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, the Italian club have pulled out a move for the 19-year-old as they believe they cannot compete with United financially.

When asked where the striker could end up, Napoli scout Loris Boni is quoted as saying: “Definitely in a great club. Salzburg, an excellent team, can only be a springboard for someone like him.
