There are many unanswered questions about the future at Napoli these days after what’s been a largely disappointing 2020-21 season, but one decision that seems practically set in stone is the exit of Chelsea loanee Tiémoué Bakayoko.

Reports earlier this season had indicated that Bakayoko would be available to sign for €18m as part of a verbal agreement between the two clubs. But even though that could be considered a cut-rate price, Napoli do not want to keep Bakayoko beyond the current season — as per a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

His decline in form is likely the main reason behind this decision, though the uncertainty of head coach Gennaro Gattuso’s position and Napoli’s Champions League prospects are not helping either.
