Jose Mourinho has quashed any speculation that Ramires or talented young goalkeeper Thibault Courtois will leave Chelsea for Barcelona this summer. Spanish newspaper Marca had reported the Chelsea manager would rather leave the Belgium No 1 on the bench than allow him to leave for the Catalan giants. On loan with Atletico Madrid for the third successive season, Courtois has yet to mount a serious threat to Petr Cech for the No 1 jersey, despite being widely considered as one of the world’s most promising talents. Ramires, on the other hand, was forced into denying rumours this week that Barcelona and their La Liga rivals Real Madrid had approached him about a possible move in January. ‘I am under contract with Chelsea and my attention resides solely in keeping on doing the good job done at the club,’ he said. Speaking ahead of his side’s Premier League clash at West Ham United this weekend, Mourinho was equally unequivocal about the chances of the pair leaving for either of the Spain clubs. ‘In this moment we are in a good situation,’ he said. ‘I repeat that because we have the best goalkeeper in the world at a stable age.
