The Yankees and Chris Archer have been linked for years. From an AL East division rivalry to past trade rumors to Tampa Bay's new reality (retooling or tanking in 2018), the drumbeat won't stop drumming for an eventual deal that lands Archer in pinstripes. The latest: Yankees manager Aaron Boone threw cold water on the idea of general manager Brian Cashman spending cash on a free-agent starter like, say, Lance Lynn or Alex Cobb. Instead, a July trade blockbuster could be on the horizon--and Archer's name is already out there. According to Nick Cafardo of The Boston Globe, the Yankees could be among teams in the mix for Archer this summer.
