Despite months of information, both speculative and confirmed, that Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, ESPN’s Adam Schefter found at least one NFL executive who believes otherwise. There is no further context to the conversation, and the exec remains (for obvious reasons) anonymous. The semantics here create some opportunity for a credible out. “In the discussion” is a fairly ambiguous statement. It’s noncommittal.
