Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Jimmy Butler sustained a "meniscal injury" an MRI revealed on Saturday, according to a release from the team. It is too early to determine how long Butler’s injury will sideline him because the severity is unknown and different treatment plans call for different timelines. But the injury puts a damper on Minnesota’s season. The Timberwolves are 36-26 and in a virtual tie with San Antonio for third place in the Western Conference. Butler sustained the injury late in the third quarter of Minnesota’s 120-102 loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday.
