The Sabres decided to leave Ryan Miller back in Buffalo because they knew he wouldn't be healthy enough to practice today, coach Lindy Ruff said this morning. The goaltender, who has a day-to-day upper-body injury after getting a slap shot off the collarbone area, originally was scheduled to travel to Washington with the team Friday afternoon. "Just the fact it turned out he wasn't going to practice today, so we just felt we wouldn't bring him along," Ruff said after an optional morning skate in Verizon Center. "He's still moving forward. Actually, he's doing well." Goalie Jhonas Enroth will start tonight's game against Washington and likely Sunday's key matchup in Carolina. Ruff said it's possible Miller could join the team in Raleigh. "We're going to leave that as an option," Ruff said. "Obviously, it's a short day for us with a 5 o'clock game, but that is a possibility."
