The Pittsburgh Steelers made a huge splash and acquired high-upside safety Minkah Fitzpatrick from the Miami Dolphins via trade on Monday.
You might think he won't have enough time to get familiar with his new surroundings and teammates, but according to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, Fitzpatrick will be available for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Mike Tomlin says Minkah Fitzpatrick will play Sunday for the #Steelers vs the #49ers, though they’ll keep his role somewhat limited to have him get comfortable. “He’s on the ground now as we speak so we have almost a full week to prepare him to play.”— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) September 17, 2019
As you can imagine, Fitzpatrick's role will be somewhat limited as he familiarizes himself with the team's defense, but since the trade happened early in the week, he'll have close to a full week to get ready for Sunday's matchup.
