Pitchers Mike Fiers and Francisco Rodriguez were assigned by the Brewers on Tuesday to high Class A Brevard County but for entirely different reasons. Fiers, who began the season with the Brewers before being sent to Class AAA Nashville, was reassigned to Brevard so he could be closer to his family home in Fort Lauderdale and attend to a personal situation there. "We really can't say anything because of privacy matters but Mike needs to be close to home for now and we wanted to accommodate him," said Brewers assistant general manager Gord Ash. "We hope at some point that he'll be able to get back to Nashville." Rodriguez will begin what he hopes is a return to the major leagues after signing a minor-league deal with the Brewers a couple of weeks back. The plan is for "K-Rod" to pitch in relief three times -- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, then move up to Nashville for a few appearances.
