Michigan football is hiring Vanderbilt defensive coordinator Jesse Minter for the same position, a source confirmed Tuesday to 247Sports' Brandon Marcello. Minter replaces Mike Macdonald, who departed recently to become the Baltimore Ravens' defensive coordinator.

Pete Thamel first reported the news.

Minter completed his first year as an assistant at Vanderbilt after a four-year stint with the Ravens from 2017-20. He was a defensive assistant from 2017-18 with the team before being the assistant defensive backs coach in 2019 and taking over the position fully in 2020.
